I moved out at 18 as well, was back briefly for a week when I dropped out of college. 10 years ago I moved my wife and kids back to my hometown and we lived with my parents for 6 months while we found our own place.
My mom moved out a couple years ago, and I am about to move back in with my dad to take care of him. I have an RV parked next to his house. If my mother was still living with my dad I would never consider it.

I remember being at the computer center at the local university and someone came running in freaking out about the World Wide Web and then we had to figure out what a browser was and how to work it.
Starting when I was in 7th or 8th grade (late 80s - early 90s) I started playing on MUDs (Multi User Dungeons), a precursor to an MMORPG that was all text based. It was part game, part chat room. It was not until a couple years later that I played regularly. They were not really an online service, but I did use aol as my isp starting in 96, but only to connect to a MUD or EverQuest.

I lost my license years ago because I could not pay my child support because of a work injury. I had no option but to continue driving. Then almost did not get a new job because I did not have a license. It was a vicious circle. 11 years after no longer having child support it is still effecting me, one state suspended my license because I was driving on a suspended license (but I was never notified) and even though another state gave me a license when I moved, they also suspended my license (again without notification).
I guess it depends on the context.
