I really liked Nine Days.
I really liked Nine Days.
Magnificent machine. I loved mine so much for so many years.
Or when your mobile phone was about to ring.
Oh wow. I totally forgot about those.
That’s correct. Jesus they were awful yokes but they were really mostly intended for letting you know that your hardware was bollixed at boot time.
PC’s had mostly been business machines really until the 90s if my memory is correct.
If you wanted gaming you got a more gaming focused machine like an Amiga or console.
Pechanga Arena was just “The Sports Arena”
That’s what I thought! But it just seemed like my memory playing tricks on me for a place to be called “The Sports Arena”. LOL.
Random other info about that place, they shot a scene from Almost Famous at one of the freight entrances there.
WHAAAT!?!?! Love that movie and I only rewatched it there a few months ago not knowing that. That’s a cool little nugget. Thanks!
Not there but (and I had to google maps this) it was at a place that I think is called “Pechanga Arena” now on the aptly named “Sports Arena Blvd” but I think the arena was called something else back then. About 2 miles from Ocean / Mission beaches and close to my apartment at the time.
You did well with your purchases!
Flippin’ LOVE San Diego.
Got a second hand ISA interface SoundBlaster 64 at a computer fair in San Diego when I was visiting there for the best summer of my life in 1998. If I remember correctly it was $4.
Money well spent.
Well that’s a new one. Looks delicious. I’m a big Cadbury fan.
They still have those where I live I think. Chocolate shavings on top?
I am running my own business coming up on ten years now. You need to go and do a “Start your own business” course.
Lots of places have one that is state or local government sponsored so have a look around. It’s good to meet other local entrepreneurs too.
Apart from learning how to actually do business basics you’ll learn about legal requirements, filing taxes, registering a limited liability company etc that are all essential parts of a business.
Many of these things can be outsourced but you need to know about them in advance.
When you write your business plan BE HONEST with your numbers and assume everything will take longer and cost more because it will. I had huge respect for one dude I know who did then walked away before starting and losing money and / or not making enough.
Good luck!
At 7 years of age I was collecting the grass coming out of my neighbours lawnmower. I was tossing it in the air at my dog who was having great fun jumping into the air catching it.
Cue my neighbour running over my foot with his lawnmower. I didn’t feel much pain as it shredded straight through my runner and skin.
I was rushed to hospital and somehow they saved my toe. It took about five years for me to regain feeling in it.
Edit: oh I missed the word “work”.
THAT is the kind of positivity I need in my life.
Subh Milis (Sweet jam). It’s a short and powerful Irish poem reminding parents to be kind to their kids.
English translation below. Can’t seem to get the formatting correct on mobile…
Bhí subh milis ar bháscrann an doras
ach mhúch mé an corraí
ionaim a d’éirigh
mar smaoinigh mé ar an lá
a bheadh an bháscrann glan
agus an lámh beag – ar iarraidh…”
There was jam on the door handle
But I quelled the anger
That rose inside me
Because I thought of the day
That the handle would be clean
And the little hand - longed for
I prefer Ravenous Ravenous Rhinos myself
A few for me:
Also some asshole at a party last night said something stupid to me to make me feel unnecessarily unwelcome
Fuck that guy. He’s the problem, not you. Try to look at it from that perspective and you may ease your mind a little.
Who does that? It’s horrible to treat someone like that.
Oh that looks really fun. Thanks!
Sending this to my English brother in law in 3…2…1…
