  • So many people go boomer argument mode over this because they don’t like change, but their anger is clearly misplaced. The 3.5mm is not the king of audio connectors and never was, it’s death could very easily have been a good thing.

Why the fuck didn’t headphone makers start offering USB-C devices once phones pulled this move? My PC mobo from 2017 has a C port that could be used for this, I’m certain computers could have easily adapted (and they’re the way smaller market anyway). Is it just because apple had to be special with their lightning bullshit? If so, they’d better start it up now!

Instead of being able to buy new cans with the wire that my phone uses I have to snag an adapter. Not a BIG deal but this change is over 5 fucking years old, we should have these devices as the norm now to avoid all of the fucking issues we’re currently looking at

down voted by people who think any Kraft ceese is real cheese?

It is, you’re just using the FDAs god-awful definition from over 100 years ago that only cheese made in the specific traditional way is “cheese”

Kraft singles are American cheese: typically a cheddar and Colby jack mix with 2 specific chemicals added to allow water to stay in the mixture better. Boil them together, spread thinly and let harden.

Kraft singles have more chemicals and a more complex process so they can get as thin as they do, but they’re cheese by any normal person’s definition.

here’s a great video by NileBlue on the subject

While my sentence could be worded more clearly, that’s a pretty bad reading of what I said.

My car is valued by KBB at ~6k in it’s current state.

That current state includes a battery that was replaced under warranty 6 months ago, and is thus basically a brand-new battery, 9 years left on its warranty and everything.

So if something goes wrong with the battery and it isn’t directly your fault: it gets replaced for free. The only 6k being spent is the original 6k on the car as a whole

  • kinda feel like those individuals shouldn’t be allowed to use computers to do their jobs. If you can’t master just pass the basics, sorry. Here’s a pencil and a pad of paper.

My wife had her HR rep get pissed at her just yesterday for sending an email to her boss and other higher-ups asking why assistant managers at her company can’t use the computers theyre on all day properly. She had asked for a screenshot of something so she could see what the other person was seeing and they replied with “I can’t do that idk how” and thought that was acceptable?

Luckily the other higher ups told HR to shut up and that she was only mad because it’s her job to ensure basic computer literacy and she clearly didn’t.

People 100% get into the mindset that “well, I already know the basics, so anything I don’t know is advanced user shit so I can’t learn it” and it’s infuriating

  • Customer Service Rep is my title

CSR/AR/AP/Billing/IT is a lot closer to my actual workload

Before that I worked in the yard doing propane repair, and my name starts with Ha- so if I ever make Assistant Manager, well, I’ll truly have become my childhood hero by complete fuckin accident.

Oh, I also used to be the guy responsible for keeping the people living up in the hills near Redding, CA with power after the fires 2 years ago. During the 6 rivers lightning complex fire in 2022 I was within a few hundred feet of the fire break crews while I was 4x4ing up mountainsides to keep generators full of fuel.
