Probably because of your DNS configuration?
Probably because of your DNS configuration?
Thanks for the great explanation
Huh. I guess I didn’t fully understand how DNS works.
My understanding was that DNS servers propagated their listing to other DNS servers and you just had to point your computer to the one you want and it would just query that one. And if a URL can’t be found, then it’s probably because
A) it doesn’t exist
B) it exists but hasn’t been fully propagated yet
C) the DNS server listing is outdated
I thought it was terrifying because this was a footprint of someone who was lurking around your house, looking through your windows.
C’est vrai. Mais notre français québécois et nos accents se perdent. Principalement à cause de combien on s’est moqué de nous au fil de l’histoire et aussi à cause de l’Internet.
Mac OS has had this for ages.
Not really. Those that aren’t are still appreciated today still. Like the Golden Girls or Fresh Prince.
Honestly it’s difficult to say. But it would probably be some kind of cybersecurity and privacy advocacy website that call out companies and how, not only they exploit our private information for profit, but also how that information can be used against you at any point in your life, especially if a government implements a law that infringes on personal rights and freedoms and suddenly your find yourself guilty of something. These companies will gladly hand over that information to the law forces and then you’re fucked.
I was too young back then.
In hindsight, this show was a terrible idea.
Glorification of the Confederates and the protagonists called “the good old boys” would be instantaneously shut down and called out today for the racist white supremacist idea that it is.
Technically, Ubuntu supports it’s LTS versions for something like 12 years I think?
Anyway, you can get Ubuntu 14.04 LTS still with the i386 32bit ISO.
https://www.releases.ubuntu.com/14.04/
I personally would install that and install something like FVWM95 or Blackbox WM or some other ancien desktop environment.
The ballots, themselves, became an issue of contention. The visually confusing paper punch-card “butterfly ballot,” in which two columns of candidate names were separated by a middle column with marks to be punched through, was blamed for some Gore votes going to Pat Buchanan due to a misalignment of the names and marks.
And then some of those marks failed to get properly punched through.
“Some counties in Florida used a card-punch system for voting,” Busch says. “Voters would get a card with little perforated squares that lined up with names on the ballot. They would position a card puncher over the square belonging to the candidate they wanted and would push it through the square, creating a hole that would be read by a vote-counting machine. The little square that is supposed to be knocked out is called the ‘chad.’”
At issue: Some holes were not completely punched out of the ballots. “A chad that was not punched out all the way—i.e. was still hanging by one, two or even three corners to the ballot—was called a ‘hanging chad.’” Busch says. “Election officials had to devise standards by which to count the ballots with hanging chads. Do you count it as a valid vote as long as there is some evidence that a voter tried to cast a vote? Do you only count it if three of the four corners are knocked out? Something in between? No consistent standard was developed, which was a key issue in Bush v. Gore.”

I didn’t know about this hanging chads thing. Thanks for mentioning it. Now I understand what the fuss was all about back then.
Just send them to JustWatch.
You can’t call it merde unless it comes from the region of Le Merdier , France.
Oh my god that one made me really laugh out loud IRL.
I’ve had the 2x one and it was definitely spicy. As hot as some of my best hot sauces. It was definitely tough to eat a whole bowl but it was do-able.
Didn’t know they made even spicier version. Will have to try.
Someone described to me in detail how your computer resolves hostnames.
