Well I wasn’t expecting to get called out quite like this today
Well I wasn’t expecting to get called out quite like this today
Socialism doesn’t just seem like a good idea, it’s pretty much the only possible future that doesn’t end up with 99% of humanity suffering horribly.
The idea of everyone being able to work to make the means to survive has a rapidly approaching shelf life, most companies won’t employ humans over whatever tech is on the horizon as soon as it’s cheaper. The areas that remain habitable due to climate change will shrink
I do not know why this isn’t treated as a more pressing issue
That one was actually down to poorly insulated speakers and 2G phone signals dipping into the audible frequency range
Oh god AC97 era onboard audio was just bad, there was always weird glitchy sounds coming from interference elsewhere on the motherboard
Forgive me if I’m wrong, but I think the PC speaker was literally a 1-bit speaker. Anything that sounded more detailed was PWM on that one bit
Problem is, they should realise this only creates a gap for a competitor or even worse (from the companies’ perspective) a viable open source project that they’ll never be able to compete on price with.
Everyone keeps telling me “you’ll understand when you’ve got one”
I’m thinking that’s a pretty irresponsible gamble
I wish there was a Google translate for memes
Got no idea what’s going on here
That’s a weird emoji to use for elixir
…I feel like openssh has a much larger attack surface than a simple binary.
If you’re going to this extent already, you may as well jump on the run0 approach systemd is introducing.
oh no, I can hear rumbling
The internet has broken my brain.
scnr is a new one on me and in an attempt to figure it out, my brain did not land on the now rather obvious “sorry, could not resist” but “skibidi cap no rizz” as some kind of ironic initialism
I’m gonna go and find some grass now
LG do some digital signage displays you could probably use, but you’re gonna struggle if you want anything above a 60hz refresh rate IIRC.
The venn diagram of flagship consumer device features and commercial displays is pretty much two mutually exclusive circles.
I wanted the same, but ended up just going for a smart TV on my last upgrade. It’s not that I couldn’t find anything within my budget, I just couldn’t find anything with the picture quality features I wanted. So please, do let me know if you have better luck
Ah, fig boot
You don’t need to be skilled in something to get enjoyment out of it
Likewise you don’t necessarily get enjoyment out of something just because you’re skilled in it.
Probably a several-way bet on trump winning a presidency, suggesting everyone inject themselves with bleach and then staging a coup, Britain shitting the bed, deciding to leave the EU, manifesting £60bn of debt and shocking the Queen to death, Russian war in Europe, a global pandemic killing millions getting turned into political football, the Taliban taking over Afghanistan again, several of the big names in 2016 dying, a trend of people wanting to eat laundry capsules & idk Alec Baldwin shooting someone.
I reckon a quid on that would net me enough to buy an island with a mansion on it
Fuck me, have we had a bad decade
Aw man, you cut just before the beat dropped
Given your username, I’m not convinced it’s going to go to plan
I’m a big fan of Tinariwen who are from Mali
Also: Toe from Japan
Also also: yin yin from the Netherlands
And in a similar vein: l’eclair from Switzerland
Also tbh, if you want a great selection of eclectic artists from all over the world, look up a playlist of artists playing on the West Holts stage of Glastonbury for any given year—when I’m at the festival it’s always my go to stage if I’m feeling like trying something new and it’s rarely disappointed me
